At Fig, we envision a different kind of publication….one that energizes a thriving, sustainable local economy. We believe in the power of creative thinking to transform a community.
For us this means finding ways to support non-profit organizations that foster creativity and educate people about the power of innovation as foundations for a vibrant city. We believe that awareness of opportunities helps people to make informed personal choices or to find the encouragement they need to make a difference.
We have created partnerships with three local non-profits whose missions support this goal. These organizations are making a difference in the West Chester community. Individually, they offer opportunities for enrichment and education. Together, they strengthen the fabric of our community.
Sparked by this greater purpose, Fig aims to demonstrate mutually beneficial ways that we can work together and empower positive change. Make a choice to support a creative community and help build healthy, productive lives.
2016 Social Mission Partner: West Chester Fire Departments
FAME FIRE COMPANY is part of the West Chester Fire Department along with First West Chester and Good Will fire companies. Fame is the only fire company in the WCFD that provides water, trench, collapse, extrication, and ice rescue services. The current facility was built in 1974 and Fame’s history (more than 175 years in the making) like 1st WC and Good Will is 100% volunteer, saving our community millions of dollars. Our goal is to raise $2.5 million to construct an 8,000 square-foot addition to the existing building. This addition will have a larger engine room, a training facility, and dorm rooms for a live-in program for West Chester University students who volunteer.
