In with the New
Hello Friends of Fig!
We certainly been having great gardening weather, eh? This fall I have done several garden re-do's. That's where we take out existing plants and replace them with new ones! Does this sound exciting to you, or do you cringe when considering eliminating plants?
Because perennials grow so abundantly, it's really not a big loss to toss 'em or share with a friend. If your shrubs have outgrown their space, then it is a good idea to eliminate them to make your yard have a youthful and vibrant flow, and also keep things fresh in the case you put your home for sale.
When you add a bed to make room for your new goodies, you're adding more maintenance work to your plate. But when you eliminate what you have and replace it with new design and new plants, you keep your maintenance level the same, yet still get a new look.
And when it's all done, a nice coat of mulch makes the yard look so fresh for the holidays! (I can't believe winter is here...whaaaaa)
If you are just doing fall clean up, here's a class offered at Barclay Friends.
Happy gardening and best wishes to you and your family!
