WHAT’S UP AT UPTOWN
A regular overview of events happening at downtown West Chester’s Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center
Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center brings artistic and cultural experiences, and live performance to the heart of West Chester through eight performance companies: Resident Theatre Company, Windish Music & Productions, Nickerson-Rossi Dance, Better Than Bacon Improv, Opera Tutti, Jazz Cocktail Hour, Latin Programs, and the WC Studio for the Performing Arts.
A PERFORMANCE IN REVIEW
I recently visited Uptown! for the first time to see the 1967 classic, The Graduate, and definitely was not disappointed! Parking was super easy in their free lot, but because Uptown! is conveniently located right in downtown, it’s also an easy walk. The theater is beautiful, and if you’re hungry, they have a bar and popular movie theater snacks that you can purchase for the screening. The chairs are comfy and the environment is relaxed, making the entire movie viewing experience quite a pleasant one. Going to see a movie at Uptown! with friends is the perfect way to end a sweltering summer day!
